The Teaching Staff

Heather Howe Berry, Omanut teacher

Heather grew up in New York and lived in several different states around the country (AZ, MA, CO) before putting down roots in the beautiful East Bay. She graduated Ithaca College with a B.A. in Sociology, with concentrations in Clinical and Gender Studies, and earned her Masters Degree in Educational Psychology with focus on Early Childhood and Gifted Education from the University of Colorado at Denver.
Education has always been the focus of Heather’s career path, as she began teaching in Early Childhood Education as a lead teacher for many years, and moved into Higher Ed Administration before taking time off to become a mom. As a lifelong artist, Heather is happy to combine her deep love of art with her passion and commitment to Judaism as the Omanut teacher for JQuest at Temple Isaiah.  This year, in addition to JQuest, Heather is a full time Special Education teacher and the 8th grade teacher for Noar Night!
Heather is the proud mom to fourth grader Gavin, second grader Chloe and first grader Bryn. All three kids attended Gan Ilan!
She loves iced caramel macchiatos, finding art everywhere she goes, finding time to paint and cheering on the Golden State Warriors when it's basketball season!
